The Worshipful Company of Actuaries |
|
Welcome to the official website of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries,
a Livery Company of the City of London established in 1979
restricted to actuaries. We strongly support and promote our own profession, members of which are deeply involved
in the Financial Services Industry not only in London but all over the world. |
|
Like the medieval Liveries of the City of London, we play a full role in the governance of the
City, including the election and support of the Lord Mayor and Sheriffs. |
|
Most importantly, through our Charitable Trust, we give help and support to those who are less fortunate
than ourselves, with an emphasis on making a difference in improving education, particularly in the area of
mathematics. |

Sponsored actuarial bike ride on Sunday 31 May 2009
Help raise money for the British Stroke Association
Actuaries (and their friends) are invited by the Worshipful Company of Actuaries to support a sponsored bike ride in London on Sunday 31st May 2009. The Senior Warden of the Actuaries’ Company, Adrian Waddingham, hopes to lead a party of 150 actuaries on a bike ride to raise funds primarily for the Stroke Association, and also for the charities supported by the Company.
The Thames Bridges Bike ride is organised by the Stroke Association and the course is about 33 miles long, from Tower Bridge and ending at Hampton Court, crossing many of the Thames bridges en route. It is an excellent ride, and riders will see parts of London they haven’t seen before. The ride will end with a picnic in Hurst Park, near to Hampton Court to which both the riders and their supporters are invited.
If you would like to participate in this event, and raise sponsorship, your contribution towards these worthwhile causes would be much appreciated. The Worshipful Company of Actuaries hopes to see many teams from the actuarial employers. Can you raise a team in your firm? – The more the merrier!
Further information and application forms are available form Susan George at the Worshipful Company of Actuaries at susan.george@barnett-waddingham.co.uk and on 020 7776 2200.
