We Actuaries hold a Livery Lecture for Masters of other Livery Companies every autumn at Staple Inn Hall. Sadly, we could not do that this year but we were delighted instead to host a Zoom lecture on 26 October by Mr Chris Hopson, Chief Executive of NHS Providers.
NHS Providers is the organisation that represents the 217 NHS hospital, ambulance, mental health and community trusts that have been at the forefront of dealing with the health consequences of the pandemic. Chris has been a frequent media commentator throughout the last six months, appearing on programmes ranging from Question Time and Any Questions to all the major news bulletins and the Today Programme.
So Chris’ lecture “What lessons should we learn, as a nation, from COVID-19” was extremely interesting and informative. We had over 130 attend, representing around 60 Livery Companies.
