I am pleased to provide our livery golf opportunities for 2020.
We have 15 events this year, in addition to our tour to Castle Coombe, all on fine courses.
Most events are golf days which normally involve:
- morning golf
- teams of 4 players
- stableford scoring off full handicap with best two individual scores per hole to count towards a team score; plus, nearest pin, long drive
- three course lunch
However, some are different formats, start later and involve an early dinner etc. – so please look at the brief descriptions.
They are very convivial and scoring formats like the best-two-from-four at each hole allow all players, whatever their standard, to contribute and to enjoy the fun of playing for the team.
Tour to Castle Coombe, Wiltshire – We have 21 golfers and 5 non-golfers signed up for our three-day, three-rounds visit to Castle Coombe.
The Horners’ Match is usually 8 a side, playing as four 4 ball better ball matches
Master’s Day, at Effingham on 15 July, is an afternoon round followed by dinner. There is an individual stableford competition, as well as a team event; guests are welcome. The Master is invited to join for dinner. Further information will be provided later.
Volunteering to play – please put your name down
To help with planning, I would be grateful if you could let me know in which events you would like to play – either by a simple e-mail or by returning a marked-up version of the attached schedule. This allows me to allocate places as widely as possible early in the season. I am confident that I will be able to include everyone who volunteers in at least one event during the season.
There is always flexibility to withdraw, or to volunteer late, as we go through the season so please do register your interest even if your diary is not certain.
We are always delighted to welcome new members to our golf section so if you are interested in trying an event, or if you know someone who may interested, please get in touch.
As the season progresses, I will provide more information on upcoming events and an update on spaces to fill.
If I can help with any additional information, please contact me
