18th October 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Our Autumn Livery Dinner will take place at Clothworkers’ Hall on Thursday 18 October 2018. The drinks reception will take place at 6.45pm for dinner at 7.30pm. The dress code, as usual, is “black tie”.

The Master has decided again this year, for this dinner, to lift the restriction on members inviting their spouse to a Livery dinner. We do not wish materially to change the style of our dinners, to which members primarily invite business guests, but you may bring your spouse (and invite the spouse of a business guest) if you so wish.

We believe, however, that our Mansion House banquet remains the primary function for guests and spouses and the January 2019 Livery dinner will revert to the normal format.

Our principal guest for the evening will be The Baroness Arbuthnot of Edrom, who as Judge Emma Arbuthnot is Chief Magistrate for England and Wales.

She is responsible for hearing many of the most sensitive and complex cases in the magistrates’ courts and also supports and guides her colleagues in the district magistrates’ courts.

Emma is married to Lord Arbuthnot, who was a Member of Parliament from 1987 to 2015.

Tickets are £105 each (with a discount price of £55 for prospective members attending their first dinner as a guest) and can be reserved by clicking the booking form here. Booking will close on 5 October, or earlier if we reach the Hall’s capacity. The dress code, as usual, is “black tie” with equivalent for ladies.
