INSTALLATION DINNER – 12 JULY 2018
July 12 @ 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm
INSTALLATION OF OUR NEW MASTER AND DINNER – 12 JULY 2018
Our next major formal event is the installation of our new Master in July. Nick Salter will be our 40thMaster, and he will be installed at Salters’ Hall on Thursday 12 July.
Not many Masters have a Hall named after them so this will be a very special occasion in the newly refurbished Salters’ Hall! The Salters (the Company that is, not Nick!) have had numerous Halls over the year, one destroyed by fire in 1666, but the Hall on the current site was destroyed by a bomb in May 1941. The current Hall was re-built in 1976.
The Installation ceremony will commence at 6.15pm and this will then be followed by a drinks reception and dinner. As usual, the dress code is “black tie”.
Nick’s principal guest will be The Rt Hon Earl Howe, a Conservative front bench member of the House of Lords.
After Oxford, in 1973, Freddie Curzon joined Barclays Bank where he held a number of senior managerial positions both overseas and in London. He became the 7thEarl Howe, inheriting the title from his second cousin, in 1984 and, after a number of positions in the House of Lords, he became Deputy Leader of the House of Lords and Minister of State for Defence in May 2015.
Tickets are £105 each (with a discount price of £55 for prospective members attending their first dinner as a guest) and can be reserved by clicking the booking formavailable here.
Booking will close on 29 June, or earlier if we reach the Hall’s capacity. A reminder that the usual format of business guests only will apply at this dinner.
