MASTER ACTUARY AND 601 SQUADRON ABSEIL DOWN THE CHEESEGRATER – 14 SEPTEMBER 2018

September 14 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

We are delighted to announce that 601 Sqn and the Worshipful Company of Actuaries are joining forces and fielding a team for the Lord Mayor’s Abseil Challenge on 14th September 2018.

Master Actuary, Nick Salter, Air Commodore Nick Bray and Honorary Group Captain The Lord (Robin) Rotherwick will be making the descent from level 47 of The Leadenhall Building, aka ‘The Cheesegrater’, one of the tallest buildings in London standing at over 200 metres.

This act of bravery/madness will be raising funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which supports three charity partners – Samaritans, OnSide Youth Zones and Place2Be – in delivering ground breaking programmes that can help change people’s lives and help create A Better City for All.

You can find out more about the appeal and the charities here

We expect that the team will make their descent between 11am and noon on 14th September and will then join those who wish to spectate (or simply celebrate afterwards) from noon at nearby pub The Counting House.  We hope that this will provide an opportunity for actuaries and Squadron members to get to know each other.  Past Master Actuary Sally Bridgeland (contact details below) will be the point person for logistics on the day.

Please give generously to support these great causes and celebrate our affiliation.  Through this link you can find the team’s Just Giving Pagewhere you can pick individual team members to support or make a donation to the whole team through Sally’s page here.
